Fintuition Consulting Ltd. is a young business in a world of big players, which raises a couple of questions:
- Why start a small consultancy in a heavily populated space?
- Why, as a business, would you choose a smaller consultancy over a big organisation?
- What are the main aspects that Fintuition offers in comparison to the competition?
Consultant conveyor belts
Fintuition is an established EU consultancy within the Asset Finance, Leasing and Auto, Equipment Finance industry built on trust between clients and consultants. Founded by Director Tom Sambridge’s 20+years in Financial Services and Project Delivery experience, as well as the combined decades of insight within the team and consultant network. The impetus for Fintuition was Tom’s previous experience working at a global consultancy for a short period, after having also managed several consultants assisting on different projects for many years. He was alarmed by the way companies operated and the discrepancy between the levels of experience and knowledge, and what was being presented to clients, all for the same fee.
Tom explained: “Businesses function in all different ways but I was alarmed by the conveyor belt approach I witnessed where the consensus was to agree to everything and then scramble to make it happen thereafter. Consultants were being put before clients to try and win business and if successful then going onto work with the client and essentially learning on the job, added with a 6 week system training course which I questioned from day one. Clients should use consultants to improve their operational development and enhance their current processes through experience, not to be used just to feel the gaps”
The right expert for the job
Knowing the importance of specialist knowledge when it comes to implementing technology solutions for business transformation, Tom set out to do things differently. The focus was on delivering excellence, generating strong, successful teams and building relationships with clients based on trust and performance while meeting budgetary requirements.
He said: “The difference with Fintuition is that we get the specific expertise for the job, thanks to our network of talent. If you need particular system knowledge, software integration or an expert for a particular stage of a project, we make sure you have a consultant or team who really know what they’re doing and will deliver to the highest standards.”
A holistic approach to better results
Crucial to delivering the best results is not just finding the best person for the job, but also creating the best environment in which to bring a project to fruition. Where large consultancies typically take a cookie-cutter approach, we are focused on attending to the client’s holistic as well as technical needs, and therefore meeting all requested requirements across the board.
That means we will work as best suits you. For example, if you want someone with specific software expertise with migration experience and need them in the office three days a week, we source from a huge pool of candidates to make this happen, giving clients the satisfaction of knowing they are getting exactly what they have asked for. We also build teams within organisations and support the strategy and operational development to make sure you get the most benefit from technical innovations. Overseeing each project and acting as a primary point of contact, as well as managing each project internally, is Tom himself.
Building business success
Getting systems accurately implemented and integrated into organisations is such a fundamental part of business success; it’s essential to do it well and for teams to feel confident about what’s been put in place. The cost of getting that implementation wrong isn’t just the set up fee, but the impact it has on your ability to do business going forward.
Businesses are highly vulnerable to the people advising them in these circumstances, so it’s understandable to hide behind the perceived safety of a big name. However, just because a large organisation has experience doesn’t mean the person on the ground, doing the work does, and that’s the priority.
At Fintuition, we make sure that the people responsible for the job have the most knowledge and experience so that you can trust the process and know you’re getting the best foundation on which to build the next stage of your business success.
